Nice article by Behance Network founder Scott Belsky of Harvard Business School. Its not often that we get first hand accounts from entrepreneurs like this article in the Harbus (the student weekly at Harvard Business School). There is a lot to learn from active campus entrepreneurs like Belsky. Here are some selections from his piece:

I think this is the first time I have seen a team of Executive MBA Students win a business plan competition. According to a report on VUCast (Vanderbilt’s University Network), a team of executive MBA students from the Owen Graduate School of Management, won the Jungle Business Plan Challenge.
Check out the members of this team [...]

Peek Inside Harvard’s Entrepreneurial Culture

Found this really cool article by Albert Park over at Xconomy.com in which he (an MIT student) goes over and observes the entrepreneurial culture at local rival Harvard. When I think of Harvard entrepreneurs I think of Gates and Zuckerberg.
Parks does kind of a mini-ethnography and lays out some of the driving institutions in Harvard’s [...]

Its not just the hoopsters from Chapel Hill that are finding continued success. SizeMeUp.com and its CEO/Founder Melissa Adelman is on a roll. Here is an NPR interview with Melissa and here is SizeMeUp.com on KillerStartups.com.

Michigan Offers $30MIL BPlan Contest

A few years ago when I wrote my first paper on bplan contests, most folks thought I was nuts. But I knew something was going on. I was aware that contests and prizes were growing. I observed that groups outside of the business school and the university were holding contests. I began to see stories [...]

Finding Opportunities: Tips from Donald L.

I found Donald Latumahina’s blog, Life Optimizer, on Alltop.com under the lifehacks section. Donald’s posting, Simple Guide to Finding Opportunities is well worth the read. Many of you out there are probably already doing some of the things he recommends, but it is a nice succinct list and entry. Bottom line is that people who [...]

From the Edmonton Journal:
Ben Block’s Sundial Graphics has had 190 per cent year-over-year monthly sales increases since he launched the company three years ago. That helped him win Alberta’s top student entrepreneur award from Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE) last Friday, and he’s also one of two regional winners who will go to the nationals in [...]

Interesting article about the Richard H. and Pamela S. Bard Center for Entrepreneurship, at University of Colorado-Denver, and some of its activities, alumni, and successes.
The center celebrated its 10th anniversary in December and appears to be pretty evolved. Its founder, Yash Gupta, was the Dean of the College of Business and Administration a decade [...]
